2018 predictions: It's a dog-eat-dog world

I think we’re all ready for the Fire Rooster of 2017 to fly the coup? As we say goodbye to the erratic Fire Rooster and usher in the loyal Earth Dog, we step into a completely new energy in 2018. The Earth Dog is grounded, loyal, and friendly, but can also become quite fierce when threatened. Although the Chinese New Year isn’t until February, we will  feel the year kick off quick with all planets moving forward starting January 3rd when Uranus goes direct. The bigger news as it relates to Uranus however, is that it changes signs after being in Aries since 2010. Uranus will move into its next area of revolution as it changes signs this year.

Uranus in Taurus - Meet George Jetson

If you grew up watching The Jetsons like me, we’ll finally get hints of it starting this year. Uranus moving into Taurus will completely change our physical world. We’ll begin to see glimpses this year as Uranus makes its move for a few months, goes back into Aries to tie up a few loose ends before moving into its next area of reform over the next eight years. While the current administration is busy trying to undo all progress from the last decade, social entrepreneurs are building a new world right underneath the old.

Anything that is tangible will be revolutionized and technologized. How we use money will change. What money is will change. What we buy with money will change. And since our culture is highly dependent on our things, we will all be forever changed. If technology’s not your thing, it’s time to take the dive because everything will be computerized.

Uranus is sudden, so expect fluctuations that come out of nowhere in these areas. This could include loss of physical property or money (i.e. stock market) or through earthquakes because Taurus is terra firma. We will see the effects of this transit in full force starting in 2020.

To see what area of your life will be affected, check your personal chart for its House placement. I, for one, am relieved to have Uranus move out of my 4th House. - the house of home and property. I’ve moved fifteen times since 2010. Although uncomfortable, it helped me relocate to California, get out of my comfort zone (as a Cancer sign), and taught me so much about feng shui. Uranus likes change, but only for the purpose of upgrading your life in an unpredictable way. Whatever area of your life Uranus affects, your lesson is to release control and go with the flow.

Saturn in Capricorn - Checks and Balances

There is a serious overtone to the Earth Dog, which goes right in line with Saturn having just moved into Capricorn for the next 2 1/2 years. Saturn in Capricorn is like taking the AP class in business and government where you have to show up on time, follow the rules, and do your homework. It’s a reality check where you must cross your t’s and dot your i’s. The checks and balances and karma will be straightened out in our government under this transit.

Jupiter in Scorpio - Clutter Intervention

2018 is the perfect year for your Clutter Intervention. If fact if you don’t take the initiative, the Universe will find ways of doing it for you. Jupiter in Scorpio will have you unearthing things from the past in your closet. Jupiter shines a giant flashlight on things tucked away, hidden, and in the dark. The combination of Jupiter in Scorpio and Uranus in Taurus creates the perfect combination for a complete excavation and overhaul of your physical possessions. I happen to have the perfect book for you:)

2-Year - Partnerships Highlighted

This year won’t be all about work. Relationships will take a leading role. 2017 was Year 1 of a new 9-year cycle in Numerology. Like riding a bike for the first time, it was a rough start. Now we move into a 2-year (2+0+1+8=11 1+1= 2) and realize we might need training wheels to get going or, better yet, partners. There will be a focus on partnership in 2018, for better or for worse.

With the influence of the loyal Earth Dog, any cracks in the foundation of relationships will be sniffed out to be dealt with. And with Jupiter in Scorpio, any secrets within relationships will most likely come to the surface. No more fake news in business or personal relationships.

When you take all these factors above into account, I see it as a year of harvesting the fruits of your labor, investing in yourself for the long run, new innovation, excavating your shadows, and either strengthening or surrendering relationships.
